Weight loss for diabetics
Diabetes is an illness that comes in two forms. Those forms are diabetes type one and diabetes type two. In our modern day society, diabetes is on the rise due to unhealthy eating and overexposure to sugary foods. Type one diabetes which is commonly known as adolescent diabetes is different to the type two diabetes as it will cause teh body to stop producing insulin altogether. Typically, type two diabetes is found in older adults and comes about due to the body not producing enough insulin or because the body becomes immune to the insulin.
Either way though, no matter which diabetes it is that you have you will have an impaired ability to utilize sugar properly and as a result the blood sugar levels in your body will increase. A thing to remember though is that not only can you lower your blood sugar through the medication that is commonly prescribed but you can also lower your blood sugar levels through exercise and a healthy diet.
Exercise is important without being diagnosed with diabetes, so if you do have diabetes either type one or type two then you should try and maintain a healthy life style with exercise and healthy eating so you can maintain your insulin levels and gaining excess wage.
Type one diabetes is actually impossible to prevent and those who have it have no control over it. Type two diabetes on the other hand can be prevented through regular exercise and healthy eating. Type two diabetes can also be helped to be prevented through the consumption of vitamins which can prevent insulin resistance occurring and also help to maintain your weight.
Exercise not only helps you with diabetic management with its ability to lower your blood sugar and insulin sensitivity but it also helps minimize the side affects of being a diabetic. It has actually been proven through research that walking only thirty minutes a day can remove the possibility of type two diabetes occurring.Nearly all diabetics will also develop circulation problems which can also be potentially eliminated through exercise along with a reduced blood pressure. As most diabetics have bad circulation, this is a huge benefit as circulation is a positive thing for diabetes.
Although exercise is notably beneficial for diabetics, there are still risks associated with exercise however the benefits far outweigh the risks. Since diabetics regularly need to keep an eye on their blood sugar and its important to keep it lowered, exercise can help with this as it (as mentioned previously) reduces your blood sugar. There is a chance though that if your blood sugar drops to low it can cause hypoglycemia which is dangerous for diabetics.
When you do exercise (especially in a social surrounding) you should notify others that you are a diabetic and what they should do if your blood sugar does go to low and cause hypoglycemia so to be on the safe side you should make sure you carry with you something containing sugar such as softdrink or fruit juice.
Some signs of a hypoglycemia onset include the following
- increased heartbeat (rapid)
- sweating
- feeling shaky
- feeling hungry
When coping with your diabetes you should take everything in this article into consideration. If you have type one diabetes you can make the most of the situation and exercise regularly and try and maintain a healthy lifestyle. If you have type two diabetes on the other hand you can work hard to try and undo the damage and make it have less of an effect on you. If you dont have diabetes though you should take this article into consideration even more and work on prevention.
