waters relation to exercise

We can survive at most three days without consuming water however after that we run into serious and life threatening problems. Most people though have replaced water in their diet with soft drinks such as coca cola and lemonade. These drinks contain sugar and artificial sweeteners and colours. Water however is the best alternative and is needed in your diet, especially if you want to lose weight.

There are lots of different things that can affect your water consumption such as how much exercise you do, your weight and your body temperature. It has actually been proven by research that two thirds of adults dont drink the amount of water they need on a daily basis. drink more water

A key point in water consumption is that you should drink water on a regular basis as well as when you are thirsty. By doing this it means you keep hydrated and avoid losing the water that is commonly lost by the time your body realises its thirsty. As mentioned previously about people drinking softdrinks such as coca cola over water another common problem is people substituting water for other beverages such as alcohol or caffeine beverages which can cause you to urinate more then normal and dehydration.

Did you also know that when you exercise you lose water through sweating meaning you should infact consume more water when you are exercising. Your body also loses water while sleeping so it is recommended that you drink water prior to going to sleep to keep your normal bodily functions.

Another thing to remember is that if you become ill you should drink more water then on a normal day to day basis. Some examples of becoming ill include getting the cold or flu. Your body is more prone to dehydration when sick and drinking water can combat this. Sick or not though, you should make a habbit of drinking water on a daily basis.

So keep a bottle of water on you at all times and enjoy the health benefits it brings.
