The Grocery Store Theory
Im a huge fan of myth busters and the other myths and legends that float around the internet and on television but theres one that catches my eye as an actual fact due to the nature of it. Note though that all supermarkets are different so this isnt exact science but its still moderately accurate as I would safely put money on it that 90% of supermarkets use the layout im going to mention.
So basically, the theory is that when you go to a supermarket wether it be a smaller one such as the co-operative (still a decent size) or the bigger supermarkets such as your local ASDA, Tesco, Sainsbury or Morinsons (theres probably more but i cant remember) also note that these are British Super Markets that im talking about so sorry to the Americans as I have no idea what you guys use but I know that in Australia its Coles and Woolworths. Anyway, the theory is that when you go into these supermarkets, the layout is typically done so your fresh fruits, vegetables and other fresh goods etc are around the outside of the store or perimiter as some people might prefer to call it.
I know that from personal experience when ive gone shopping the odd time that typically around the perimiter is the registers/tills, fresh fruit and veg, freezer/fridge section and on the back wall typically bread and the deli section and whatnot. So even if these isles vary its not going to be a huge ammount and chances are the section containing the junk food such as cakes and biscuits and candy and other fatty stuff will be crammed in the middle of the supermarket.
So by avoiding this blackhole aka the middle of the shopping center you dont come into contact with the junk food and as a result you cant pick it up and as an even further result if you havnnt picked it up then you cant buy it meaning that in the long run it doesnt enter your stomach, get digested and turn into the fat that brings you to this website in the first place.
So there we have it, avoid the middle of the shopping center and avoid pilling on excess pounds.
