the benefits of exercising during pregnancy

Exercising is extremely beneficial to your health under normal circumstances but when your pregnant exercise can have lots of other positive benefits and especially in the first few weeks of your pregnancy. Something to keep in mind though is that the exercise you choose to do should be light, especially during the first few weeks as your body adjusts to the changes which can vary in time depending on the person. The reason it should be light exercise is because heavy exercise usually diverts the blood flow from your crucial areas so if you are a regular exerciser then you should reduce your schedule during your pregnancy. After all its only nine months.

Some exercises you can do with ease during pregnancy however include but are not limited to walking, yoga and swimming which are extremely suitable for those who are pregnant. You can also do the more physical exercises such as weights and the rowing machine however you should make sure you do it at an easier pace. A majority of specialists will advise you to exercise on an average of three or four times a week, however if you have a physical impediment or another medical condition then you should first see your doctor.

Some reasons that you should exercise regular can be seen below.

  • Exercise can in some cases help you to reduce the time your in labor.
  • Exercise can reduce the time it takes you to recover from your pregnancy

exercise during pregnancy

Another thing to remember is that when you exercise you should consume plenty of fluids and eat a healthy diet. If your body is tired then you should rest, not over exert your self.  Exercising during pregnancy  will also make it easier for you to deliver your baby when the time comes (assuming a natural birth) due to the physical benefits that come with regular exercise.
Did you also know that your unborn baby will also gain from you exercising during pregnancy  which is yet another reason for exercising during this time.
Its key that you enjoy your exercise and reap the benefits listed but also keep in mind that you should contact your doctor in regards to anything physical that you have doubt about. If you do decide to exercise during pregnancy then enjoy your new found fitness.
