Ride a bike to work
Here for a change is an exercise orientated article. Im a huge fan of things you can easily do in your everyday life without noticing them, yet they still help you lose weight. Things such as parking at the back of the car park and eating slower. This article is no exception, its about riding your bike to work instead of taking your car to work.
Its not hard at all to ride a bike to work, infact a good friend of mines dad road to work on a regular basis at the distance of roughly thirty miles. Luckily for him though that was in Australia where it was mostly sunny. Not to mention he had a good quality racing bike and all of the appropriate gear making it easier for him. What makes me say it isnt that hard is because his dad was not skinny and was infact over weight yet he managed to do that with what appeared to be ease, day in day out.
Theres actually a good chance that where you work has the appropriate storage solutions for your bike. I know that at my university there is bike lockers where you can lock your bike up free of charge with your own locker key etc. There is only maybe twenty lockers but it seems to be sufficient and infact, I dont think all of them are in use. If your not lucky enough to have bike lockers then you can easily get a good quality chain that is saw proof. Note though that even though it might be saw proof it wont be grinder proof meaning that if you leave it in a place that someone could pull that off your bike might go missing so the best place to store it would be on campus or in a good spot near your work.
Riding your bike to work will not only give you the benefit of exercise with your legs but it will also save you money in parking and fuel. Especially because fuel is so expensive now, notably in the United Kingdom.
