Only eat deserts after a proper meal
One of the common mistakes that people trying to lose weight make is related to counting calories. The common problem is that someone concludes that because a meal might have five hundred calories or so that instead of that they can eat a desert such as a cake with an equal number of calories. The problem with this is that the desert still has high amounts of sugar in it which commonly spikes your blood sugar levels causing it to be converted to fat.
The way to avoid this is actually surprising as it involved consuming more calories then your typical meal in the form of your meal and then the desert afterwards. The reason that this works is because when you eat your normal meal which usually consists of different proteins and complex carbohydrates etc meaning that when you then go and eat your desert your blood sugar instead of rising extremely fast and converting to fat straight away instead rises slowly and although containing fat it does not absorb as much as eating the desert by its self.
So if you do manage to find a desert that you like and thats not to high in fat then you should take the advice above to make sure you absorb as little fat as possible from your desert.
Either way though, enjoy.
