Don’t use the scales

When it comes to losing weight you obviously need to know how much you weigh and then you follow that up by weighing your self again to see if youve lost any weight. This is the common way of knowing if youve lost any weight. This can however be negative and cause problems when your trying to lose weight fast.

The problem with having the scales out is that as you lose weight your probably going to be obsessed with weighing your self to see if youve lost anything and if you havnt then it could result in you considering giving up or not believing in your self. The scales will most likely plague you in the back of your mind if you know they are there so by not using them and putting them out of the way you wont be tempted to use them.

Another issue with using the scales is that when your trying to lose weight and your working out (or not) you might lose weight but theres also a good chance that your going to gain muscle. A key point in this is that muscle weighs a lot more then fat and if you do gain muscle the scales could actually show that youve gained weight when although this is true you might of lost weight but you might of gained muscle at the same time and the scales wont show this only your overall weight.

So instead of using the scales to weigh your self and not knowing exactly how much weight you have lost and how much muscle you have gained you should use other common sense factors such as measuring your waist and chest with a tape measure and even picking up on small indications such as if your clothes fit you better.
